Charity solutions

Telecom Express has deep experience in the Charity sector, having worked closely over the years with Comic Relief and Sport Relief, the Disasters and Emergencies Committee (DEC), Cancer Research UK, Save The Children, Children In Need and many others.

Telecom Express provides an end to end managed service for all elements of an appeal whether using live agents or an automated service.

One of the core components of Telecom Express's Charity Solution is delivered in partnership with Eckoh, the UK's leading provider of customer service solutions using speech recognition. Eckoh provides the technology framework for robust real-time, highly secure and PCI DSS compliant charity donations by phone, web and mobile.

The automated service enables enquiries, transactions or payments to be processed without the caller needing to talk to a call centre, significantly reducing client costs. The EckohDonate infrastructure can handle over 650,000 calls an hour and up to 8,000 calls simultaneously, ensuring that none are missed no matter how unpredictable the circumstances.

Donations from mobile via text/SMS and mobile apps are also increasing significantly, whether they are promoted online, in print, on television or increasingly via social media platforms such as Facebook. Charities and their beneficiaries can benefit from mobile network operators waiving their usual fees, as well as VAT exemptions. The mobile channel often represents a new audience of people willing to donate by via mobile who might otherwise not have been able or willing to donate at all.

Comic Relief Red Nose Day 2011

Now in its 25th year, the UK's largest biennial charity event raised a phenomenal £102 million during its Red Nose Day appeal in March 2011. Telecom Express are delighted to have been closely involved with Comic Relief in this record-breaking year, utilising our experience and diverse skill base as a major part of the donation process. This included providing and managing a huge network of lines which enabled viewers to donate during the live transmission of Red Nose Day and a mechanic for unique voting across both "Let's Dance for Comic Relief" and "Stand Up for Comic Relief", which were broadcast on TV and Radio respectively.

"Telecom Express has managed our requirements to a very high level across the range of projects they were involved with for Red Nose Day 2011. Their experience and knowledge across a range of our key fundraising areas was invaluable." Radha Chakraborty - Operations Director, Comic Relief
